Maintenance Agreement - Laboratory Equipment

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Influenza Division, intends to award a sole source commercial contract to GE Healthcare, 800 Centennial Ave, Piscataway, NJ 08855 for the acquisition of a maintenance contract for the following laboratory equipment: two (2) each Aktaexplorer 100 Model #18111241, one (1) each Typhoon Trio w/workstation Model #63005588, one (1) each BC T100 Procession Unit Model #14110065 and one (1) each Base 20/50 EHT-02100-120vl Model #28941353-1448998. In accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1), the contracting officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem that GE Healthcare is the only source reasonably available because they are the original equipment manufacturer and are the only source with the capability to provide qualified engineers, original manufacturer repair parts and equivalent replacement equipment for load during repairs. The NAICS code for this procurement is 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, size standard $19M. The period of performance for this procurement is 12 months. As a result of this synopsis, no competitive solicitation will be posted. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and are solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
