Contract #: W91RUS-17-P-0112 Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: Added: June 21, 2017 The Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground, Fort Huachuca intends to award contract W91RUS-17-P-0112 under FAR 13.106-1 (b)(1), only one source reasonably available. The Electronic Proving Ground at Fort Huachuca is currently using Catalogic Software for backups and requires purchase of Maintenance Renewal for the Catalogic Software. Catalogic is the manufacturer of the software that is currently in place. Catalogic Software, is the sole manufacturer of the DPX Product (formerly Syncsort Backup Express Product (BEX), and the only company from which EPG can obtain maintenance services. The 2TB of data protection which allows for backup up to 2TB of CIFS user data from the Dell EqualLogic storage. The license supports Windows clusters, file level backup, archival, data encryption, data archival, multiple hardware and software SAN vendors and tape libraries. It would be very costly to uninstall the existing software and put something else in its place. This is a non-personnel service contract to apply maintenance to existing software which includes a base year with 4 options years at Electronic Proving Ground (EPG at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. The NAICS is 511210 This Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source contract is not a request for competitive quotes. There will not be a solicitation or a Request for Quote (RFQ) issued. Any responses or inquiries to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the Government. All information received from this notice shall be used for planning and market research purposes only. The determination to refrain from competing proposed contracts based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for the preparation of any information submitted or use of such information. Acknowledgement of receipt of responses will not be made, nor will respondents be notified of the evaluation of the information received.
