The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, specifically the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Perkin Elmer for a maintenance and service agreement for critical instruments. This decision is based on the original manufacturer's exclusive access to the most current software, parts, and trained engineers, as well as their ability to provide loaner machines to prevent work disruptions. These unique capabilities are deemed essential to maintaining the integrity and peak efficiency of both new and older equipment. Interested parties who believe they possess the required expertise and capabilities must submit a written description of their services and pricing information to the Contracting Officer within 15 days of the posting date. All submitting vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry. If no qualified alternative sources are identified during this review period, the government will proceed with negotiations and award the contract to Perkin Elmer without further notice.
