Martin Metal Finishing Removal Action Workplan

The Martin Metal Finishing Removal Action Workplan, under solicitation number 20064, is a project managed by the Central Valley Flood Protection Board located in Stockton, California. The scope of work involves the excavation of approximately 750 cubic yards of soil contaminated with lead and hexavalent chromium from the Mormon Slough channel to a depth of two feet below ground level. Following the offsite disposal of the contaminated soil, the project requires the placement of 750 cubic yards of imported fill and the installation of a one-foot-thick erosion control cap along the southern edge of the work area. The project is located within the Mormon Slough, approximately 900 feet upstream of the South Wilson Way Bridge. It is officially exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act under three categorical exemptions: Class 4 for minor alterations to land that do not impact mature trees, Class 30 for actions to mitigate the release of hazardous substances, and Class 33 for small habitat restoration projects under five acres.
