Synthes Matrix Mandible and Midface Sets

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The 3rd Contracting Squadron, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska intends to award a sole source purchase order to Synthes USA SALES, LLC, of West Chester, PA, as a result of being the only supplier of the matrix mandible and midface mandible systems, 0001: Synthes USA Sales,LLC will provide to Elmendorf AFB the Synthes matrix mandible system. The system allows surgeons to perform surgical cases involving mandibular trauma, Mandibular reconstructive surgery and orthognathic surgery. 0002:Synthes USA Sales, LLC will provide to Elmendorf AFB the Synthes matrix midface system. The system allows surgeons to perform surgical cases involving midface trauma, orthognathic surgery of the maxilla and chin, and craniofacial reconstructive procedures. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 13.501. The anticipated award date is 5 Dec 2009. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the product/services listed above. Deadline date for the submittals is 4 Dec 2009 at 4 pm Alaska Standard Time. A determination by the government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The closing date for this Synopsis is 4 Dec 2009 at 4:00 PM Alaska Standard Time.
