Bidders must be fully licensed and certified in the State of Florida and provide a detailed equipment list and references from the last five years. The contract incorporates various federal and state requirements, including FEMA compliance, the Florida Prompt Payment Act, and Equal Employment Opportunity standards. Full Description

The Natural Lands Program's mission is preservation and management of natural areas within Seminole County to enhance or promote native biodiversity, wildlife corridors, water resources, environmental education and passive recreation. The project areas will require mechanical treatment in the form of mechanical reduction of vegetation, mowing of trails and firebreaks, and firebreak creation. This natural resource-related work requires special attention to conservation goals. These include protection of rare and endangered species, habitat restoration, facilitating prescribed fire, and supporting passive recreation. These projects require specialized heavy equipment that may include a tractor, forestry mulching head, skid-steer, roller chopper, root rake, bulldozer, disk harrow, and excavator (firebreak creation). Although we complete many of these projects in-house, having an option to use contractors to perform these projects when needed allows the Department's limited staff to be more efficient with the use of their time, and to meet multiple annual objectives. This is a re-solicitation of RFP-5245-26/AES. Please take care to review all documents in the solicitation package as multiple elements have been revised.
