IT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. RESPONSES IN ANY FORM ARE NOT OFFERS AND THE GOVERNMENT IS UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT AS A RESULT OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO PAY FOR PREPARATION OF RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY RESPONDENTS TO THIS NOTICE IS STRICTLY VOLUNTARY. This order is being awarded on a sole source basis in accordance with statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under Title 10 U.S.C.3204(a)(1), as implemented by FAR Part 6.302-1, - Only One Responsible Source and No Other Type of Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Negotiations will be conducted with GDMS, Pittsfield, MA. GDMS is the sole manufacturer of the Trident (II) D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Fire Control System and the only source with an in-depth knowledge and expertise and in-place capability to perform the required effort.
