The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) requires licenced physicians to complete and provide a Medical Requirement for Removal assessment (MRR assessment) on an “as and when requested” basis for foreign nationals subject to an enforceable removal order pursuant to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) prior to their removal from Canada. This service is required to determine if the individual’s medical and/or mental health condition, and/or requirements for removal precludes them from travel or if medical assistance is required for/during travel in accordance with the International Aviation Transport Association medical manual.
