Stony Brook University Hospital plans to procure Medline Sterile Reprocessing Products through a contract awarded by Premier, leveraging their authority under section 163(3)(vi) which permits direct purchasing from consortiums or similar entities when justified by price, bypassing formal competitive bidding. The contract will initially span two years, from November 1, 2025, to January 31, 2028, with the possibility of three additional one-year renewals contingent upon the renewal or extension of the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO). Vendors interested in supplying equivalent products are encouraged to contact the designated officer, Zhong Yi Hu, for discussions, but must adhere strictly to the NYS Lobbying Law, limiting contact to the specified individual to avoid penalties such as disqualification or debarment. Successful vendors will be required to submit documentation related to vendor responsibility, tax compliance, and workers’ compensation. The procurement is open to vendors across all New York State counties, with a response deadline of November 25, 2025, at noon, and must be submitted via email. There are no set-aside goals for service-disabled veteran-owned, minority-owned, or women-owned subcontracting. The contract size is estimated between five and fifteen million dollars, and the solicitation is managed by the State University of New York (SUNY). This procurement represents a strategic effort to secure sterile reprocessing products for Stony Brook University Hospital, with no prior awards for similar contracts within the past five years.
