The Coronado National Forest is seeking quotes for the Melendrez Pass Fence Reconstruction project on the Nogales Ranger District in Arizona. The project involves rebuilding approximately 5.75 miles of four strand barbed and smooth wire fence that was destroyed by wildfire. The selected contractor must provide all labor, equipment, materials, transportation, and supervision, including the removal and disposal of old fencing. Due to the lack of roads along the fence line, off-road vehicles and ATVs are strictly prohibited, and contractors must utilize existing roads for supply drops. This procurement is set aside 100% for small businesses under NAICS code 444190. Interested vendors were required to provide their own livestock for site visits due to the remote nature of the terrain. The project is managed by the Department of Agriculture, with coordination handled through contract specialists Elisa Baca and Sylvia L Nunez.
