The Department of Defense, through the Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation and Missile Center at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, intends to award a sole source contract for MetaVR Software Maintenance to MVRsimulation Inc. This decision is based on a determination that MVRsimulation is the only capable source to provide ongoing maintenance for the VRSG v7.0 software, which is critical for the AVNSIL flight simulators used at multiple locations. The software, a Microsoft DirectX-based render engine, supports geospecific simulation with high-quality graphics for military training simulators across flight, ground vehicle, and infantry applications. Because MVRsimulation is the sole developer and licensor of this software, the government has elected not to seek competitive quotes but will accept capability statements from other sources within seven days for consideration. This contract aligns with NAICS code 513210 and emphasizes that while the government will not pay for any costs incurred during the response process, responsible parties can submit documentation demonstrating their ability to fulfill the requirement. The solicitation number for this contract is W9124P22S7277, with the point of contact being Tequila Young at Redstone Arsenal. The contract underscores the unique nature of the software and its compatibility with a comprehensive global terrain database, making MVRsimulation the exclusive provider for license renewals and maintenance services essential to ongoing simulation operations.
