Full Description

The Canadian Coast Guard intends to procure up to four (4) Shallow Draft Buoy Tenders to replace the existing aging vessels currently in the fleet. The replacement vessel design will be based on the existing Isle-class vessels while improving crew accommodations, noise reduction, energy efficiency, and greenhouse gas emission reduction. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the future fleet, the project is exploring the use of a hydrogen fuel cell power system fed by a methanol reformer. The intent of this Request for Information (RFI) is to better understand the availability, level of maturity, and functionality for marine power generation systems. This RFI seeks industry input to provide CCG with technical information, supplier availability, and an update on the state of readiness and development for this technology.
