The Office of Naval Research (ONR) supports science and technology innovation by funding and providing collaborative areas by which authorized experts inside and outside the Department of the Navy (DoN) can present research, discoveries, developmental schedules and processes; and enabling review, discussion and the merging of ideas to necessary to provide solutions to technical issues faced by the DoN. The Office of Naval Research (ONR), Performance Improvement and Information Management (PIIM) division is charged with managing all ONR Headquarters and Field Site Information Technology (IT) support for approximately 1,200 users. PIIM is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the headquarters and remote site information technology (IT) hardware and software access systems, telecommunications and wireless capabilities to support ONR mission objectives. Likewise, ONR-Global CIO's must manage the IT infrastructure in place at other remote offices. In addition, PIIM is also responsible for the continuous improvement of all ONR business processes aimed at increasing efficiencies and reducing the administrative workload and reducing operational and business costs. One of the primary facets of ONR's Science and Technology (S&T) Programs is its international outreach and presence for collaboration/teaming with partners in various global regions. The BJECC is the largest conference room available at ONR Headquarters for such outreach opportunities and to communicate internally with ONR personnel. Currently in the BJECC ONR has 8 wireless handheld and 4 lapel microphones plus 8 wired microphones for classified meetings which are controlled by the AMX touch panel. ONR identified the need to add an additional 16 microphones (8 wireless and 8 wired) to our existing equipment. A team of VTC SMEs evaluated the current BJECC audio capability, keeping in mind compatibility with existing VTC infrastructure was a key factor, to identify the necessary parts required to satisfy this audio need.
