The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) plans to award multiple indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contracts over a five-year period for the supply of microplate consumables, specifically robotic well plates. These consumables are integral to the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences' (NCATS) high throughput screening robotic systems, which facilitate the identification and distribution of small molecule compounds to accelerate biomedical research. The anticipated contract includes a 12-month base period with four 12-month option periods and is set aside partially for small businesses under NAICS code 326199, covering other plastics products manufacturing. The procurement will follow FAR Subpart 13.5 and Part 15 procedures and is expected to have a value between $150,000 and $6.5 million. The well plates will be utilized on several NCATS robotic platforms, including the Kalypsys primary screening robot, the Tox 21 toxicology profiling system, the Agilent BioCel RNAi screening system, and the Sartorius SelecT automated tissue culture system. The solicitation was scheduled for release around mid-April 2016, with bids due approximately 30 days afterward. Interested suppliers were directed to contact the contracting officer via email to obtain the solicitation details.
