Full Description

This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) on behalf of the National Institute on Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to Leica Microsystems, Inc., 1700 Leider Lane, Buffalo Grove, Il 60089 for a service agreement for One (1) Leica TSC STED-CW microscope. Leica Microsystem's, Inc. will provide: 1 Gold Service Contract to include the following: 1. Labor and parts needed to maintain a Leica TSC STED-CW microscope (SN: 5100001253) located in the NINDS Light Imaging Facility 2. One (1) Preventative maintenance inspection per calendar year 3. Emergency service calls 4. All replacement parts not including consumables 5. Software upgrades when available The period of performance for the service contract will be for One (1) year. Service will be performed on site at the NINDS light imaging facility on the NIH Main Campus in Bethesda, MD. Leica Microsystems, Inc. is the sole provider of the existing equipment and all upgrade parts and services. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR Part 12 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
