Mid-Wavelength Infrared Imager

INTRODUCTION: The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, CA announces the sources sought technical request for information (RFI) to determine the availability and technical capability of industry to provide mid-wavelength infrared (MWIR) scientific grade imaging cameras in accordance with the DRAFT specifications provided herein. The imaging cameras are intended to be ruggedized Consumer-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) or modified COTS infrared imaging cameras that will be used for airborne infrared signature measurements. The MWIR cameras will be mounted in the NAWCWD TIGER Pod for carriage on rotary wing and fixed wing aircraft. The cameras will interface with Government-built control, data acquisition, and recording electronics. The results of this Sources Sought will be utilized to determine if the required product or service exists in the marketplace and if any Small Business Set-Aside opportunities exist. PROGRAM BACKGROUND: NAWCWD Point Mugu maintains and operates the TIGER Pod for airborne infrared signature measurements of aircraft, targets, and countermeasure flares. TIGER Pod is certified for carriage on F/A-18B/D, F-15B/D, and CH-53E aircraft. REQUIRED CAPABILITIES: MWIR imaging cameras in accordance with the enclosed DRAFT specifications (Attachment 1). All details associated with these imaging cameras are unclassified. ELIGIBILITY: The anticipated NAICS code for this requirement is 333316 with a Small Business Size Standard of 1,000 employees. The anticipated Federal Supply Code is 6720. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to respond; however, each respondent must clearly identify their business size in their capabilities statement.
