Minor Alteration No. WA2026047 – Ryer Island Discharge Pipe Replacement Project

The Central Valley Flood Protection Board is initiating a minor alteration to replace a 66-foot section of existing PVC irrigation distribution pipe with a new 18-inch diameter PVC pipe, located approximately 20 feet from the landside levee toe within an SSJDD easement, extending landward toward the irrigation ditch. The repair will maintain the existing depth and elevation of the pipe, using native soil for backfill, and will not involve any maintenance or modification of the portion of the pipe passing through the levee. A flexible coupler and concrete collar will be installed to seamlessly transition from the existing steel pipe to the new PVC segment, ensuring structural integrity and hydraulic continuity. This work is authorized under Permit 948-1 and is confined strictly to the identified section outside the levee structure. The project is forecasted under Minor Alteration No. WA2026047, with primary point of contact Jennifer Calles, Senior Environmental Scientist, and Richard Hamilton, Project Manager, overseeing coordination and execution in Rio Vista, California.
