Mira Costa High School Field Renovation, Lighting Improvement, and Facilities Master Plan

The Manhattan Beach Unified School District is implementing a comprehensive facilities improvement project at the 37-acre Mira Costa High School campus in Manhattan Beach, California. Guided by the District's Facilities Master Plan, the scope of work includes the reconstruction of the library, renovations of classroom buildings, the swimming pool, the multipurpose room, and the food service building, as well as the installation of two e-bike parking areas. Key compliance requirements include adhering to DTSC standards for imported fill materials, following California Education Code for state funding, and implementing specific mitigation measures for biological resources and light glare. Construction oversight requires a qualified monitor to conduct weekly site inspections and report on erosion and sediment control. The project is designed to modernize campus infrastructure without increasing student enrollment or the overall capacity of the athletic facilities.
