The National Institutes of Health, National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH/NIAID) in support of the Division of Vaccine Research Center (VRC) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition for testing of lymph node, PBNC and plasma samples from the Seattle cohort for processing and further testing and analysis with the University of Washington 325 9th Ave. Seattle, WA 98104. The purpose of this acquisition of these samples from cohort subjects will be used to investigate the effects of HIV on germinal center reactions. The lab will use the samples in conjunctions with downstream application such as flow cytometry, confocal histo-flow, laser capture micro-dissection, quantitative PCC deep sequencing and potential other techniques to dissect the structural and functional implications of HIV infection on lymph nodes. This will be a firm-fixed price contract in accordance with the statutory authority for this sole source requirement 41 U.S.C. 253 - (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one source available, no substitutions possible. All responsible sources who feel they can meet these requirements shall submit their capabilities that will be considered. The government reserves the right to make a decision whether this requirement is available for competition. The Period of Performance will be 12 months from the date of award.
