A Mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on September 15th 2026, at 9:30 AM at the Cedar Roe Library, Cedar Roe Large Meeting Room, 5120 Cedar Street, Roeland Park, KS 66205.

Mandatory Site-Visit
A Mandatory site visit will be held on September 15, 2026 immediately after the Pre-Bid meeting at the Mission Hills Country Club, 5400 Mission Drive, Mission Hills, KS 66208.


Scope of Work

The work consists of the following:
Installation of approximately 1829 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter force main via horizontal directional drilling, installation of one (1) new 6-foot diameter pre-cast polymer concrete combination air release and meter vault, fitting assembly for function of new force main as shown on the drawings, installation of one (1) new 5-foot diameter combination air release valve, fitting assembly and precast polymer concrete vault for function of new force main as shown on the drawings, and installation of one (1) 4-foot diameter polymer concrete gravity manhole for connection to the existing downstream gravity sewer at the Mission Hills Country Club, 5400 Mission Dr, Mission Hills, KS 66208; abandonment of approximately 1833 lineal feet of existing 8-inch Cast Iron Force Main with flowable fill; abandonment of one existing air release valve vault; testing of the new force main; installation of pump station improvements as shown on the drawing including new meter vault, bypass connection, and drain line; removal of existing curb, trees, and pavement as necessary to construct new access drive to the existing pump station at 2001 Shawnee Mission Parkway, as shown on the drawings; and any other labor or materials necessary to provide pump station improvements and a fully functioning force main and complete restoration of the site to the satisfaction of the Owner.

BID BOND: Bidders shall submit with their bid a bid bond issued by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Kansas in the amount of five percent (5.0%) of the total amount of their bid. Said guarantee shall be made payable to the Board of County Commissioners of Johnson County, Kansas.

NONRESIDENT CONTRACTORS: In accordance with K.S.A. 79-1008 through 79-1015, upon award of contracts greater than $10,000, nonresident contractors or subcontractors that are not already registered with the Kansas Secretary of State are required by law to register with the Director of Taxation and file an acceptable bond as a precedent to commencing work on the contract.

TAX CLEARANCE: The successful Bidder to this IFB shall be required to submit Tax Clearance Certifications, as provided for in the Instructions to Bidders, prior to issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

No bid may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening. The County reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest and best, responsive and responsible bidder for the work covered by the bid and to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted.

No bidder shall in any way, directly or indirectly, discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment or any other person because of age, race, color, disability, sex, national origin or religious creed, or other circumstance prohibited by federal state or local law, rule or regulation.
