RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE ARE DUE BY 11:59pm CENTRAL, WHICH SUPERSEDES THE 11:59pm EASTERN RESPONSE TIME SHOWN IN THE GENERAL INFORMATION SECTION ABOVE. As a reminder, the response time identified in the Solicitation Instruction to offerors is the final authority of when responses are due. _____________________________________________________________________ This is a market survey intended to assess market capabilities of fulfilling the requirements of the FFG(X) Wired Voice Network System. This is not a request for quotes/proposal. The Wired Voice Network (WVN) will provide vital and non-vital communications for all shipboard evolutions and operations associated with the ship functions described within this document. The WVN will be comprised of a telephone system and an announcing system. These systems shall be co-located in the same spaces. The telephone system shall provide the components required for user end-to-end communications within the ship, interfaces to other shipboard systems, and to shipboard connection points with the Defense Switching Network (DSN) and the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). The telephone system shall be assigned as Vital under the Interior Communications (IC) Importance Classification, and the Mission Assurance Category (MAC) level shall be assigned as MAC-1, Mission Critical. The telephone system shall be a highly reliable and survivable network with built-in redundancy to eliminate single point of failure capable of causing a loss of greater than 15% of system full communications capability, defined as the capability of every terminal to access every other user terminal and interface. In addition, the system shall have full server/node failover redundancy in case of a controlling element failure. If any controlling element fails, all established calls must stay active (not dropped). Failover capability shall allow new calls to be initiated in 30 seconds or less. After failover, all interconnections shall be available with no increase in blocking. The announcing system shall provide for one-way transmission of general orders, information, and alarm signals to various locations where personnel are stationed or will normally be located. Such transmissions are made by means of microphones, alarm activators, and loudspeakers connected through central, controlled amplifiers. The announcing system shall be assigned as Vital under the Interior Communications (IC) Importance Classification, and the Mission Assurance Category (MAC) level shall be assigned as MAC-1, Mission Critical. The announcing system shall be a highly reliable and survivable network with built-in redundancy to eliminate single point of failure.
