The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is proposing to implement the Moccasin Powerhouse Bypass Upgrades Geotechnical Investigation (project) to collect information on ground and soil conditions for a potential water bypass pipeline in Moccasin, California. The project includes eight geotechnical borings, seismic refraction and ground penetrating radar surveys, and twelve potholing sites. The work sites would be in the vicinity of the Moccasin Powerhouse east of Moccasin Reservoir. The seismic refraction and ground penetrating radar surveys would not involve ground disturbance. The geotechnical borings would be up to 8 inches and diameter and extend up to 50 feet below ground. The primary drilling method would be mud rotary wash with an option for hollow stem auguring.
