AI Contract Overview
NIST is seeking information from potential vendors capable of modernizing its 600MHz and 900MHz NMR systems by upgrading the console, cryoplatform, cryoprobe, and associated electronics while maintaining full compatibility with existing Bruker hardware and Topspin 5.0 or later software. The current systems are no longer supported and require complete replacement to sustain critical biomanufacturing research capabilities. The magnet units—BR081090271 for the 900MHz and Z54238 for the 600MHz—must remain intact, and all new components must directly interface with these existing magnets without modification. Responses must detail the company’s technical capabilities, prior experience with similar upgrades, manufacturing location, and whether products are available through GSA FSS or GWAC contracts, with an emphasis on demonstrating compatibility and reliability. This is a Sources Sought Notice only, not a solicitation or binding obligation from NIST; no contracts will be awarded based on submissions, and no costs will be reimbursed. Interested parties, including both large and small businesses, must provide a response limited to twelve pages in MS Word format using Times New Roman 11-point font with one-inch margins, and include company name, address, UEID, CAGE code, point of contact, small business certifications if applicable, and socio-economic status. The NAICS code is 334516, with a size standard of 1,000 employees. All responses must be submitted via email to donald.graham@nist.gov no later than August 7, 2026, and proprietary information must be clearly marked; otherwise, it will be assumed NIST has unlimited rights. NIST plans to evaluate responses to inform a future competitive Request for Quotation anticipated in the third quarter of FY26, with award expected by the end of that fiscal year.
