Full Description

Procurement action being conducted under FAR 6.302-1 with the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c), as only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the requirement; therefore proposals cannot be submitted directly on this notice. The U.S. Coast Guard intends to award a sole source purchase order to modify two (2) existing Jet Docks and reconfigure each from a 7-cube wide to a 9-cube wide configuration at USCG Sector Guam. Because the existing installed systems are proprietary and covered by U.S. Patents, there is no source of supply other than Jet Dock, Inc. from which parts can be obtained to convert the 7-cube wide systems currently utilized by field units, to the wider and safer 9-cube wide configuration. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source procurement action and is not a request for competitive proposals. Firms who want to challenge the sole-source must submit an interest letter (SF330) that demonstrates the firm's ability to provide an equivalent service as described above. Interested parties must provide rationale, including pricing, as to why they should be considered. All interested firms must respond no later than 15 days from the date of publication of this notice to Kristina Meabon at Kristina.M.Meabon@uscg.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. USCG FD&CC-PAC will not reimburse for any costs connected with providing the capability information.
