Modification to increase SAS Sotware MIPS

In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Re-investment Act (ARRA) of 2009 Pub.L.111-5, the Government posts this notice of Request for Quotation No. TIRNO-10-Q-00012 to purchase additional SAS Software MIPS ( millions of instructions per second) required for continued support of existing SAS proprietary software residing on the IBM Mainframe computers at the IRS - Enterprise Computing Center (IRS - ECC) located in Martinsburg, WVA. This requirement is to increase SAS Software MIPS as a result of increased workloads to the IRS z Series mainframe environment. These new workloads consist of processing new BMF tax forms within the Modernized eFile tax processing application. Mission critical tax applications such as BMF, IMF, and CADE will be affected by the changes implemented by ARRA such that increased volumes and changes to programs will require additional processing resources. In addition, it is anticipated that other IRS tax application systems (such as Corporate File Online (CFO)) that run within this environment will handle increased volumes of queries to support customer interactions.
