Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army, RDECOM, Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army  Soldier System Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order to Crye Associat es LLC of Brooklyn, NY 11205. The order involves modifying the Rev 9 Chassis shoulder system and plate carriers that were previously developed by Crye as a subcontractor. This is being sole-sourced to Crye because they are the only ones making this armo r system and they have the patterns and production line in place and geared up to perform this work. Transitioning this work would delay the procurement process which must be completed by mid-April 2008 in order to satisfy electronics kit assembly and debu gging for OTM 2008. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that determines it can meet the requirements may give written notice t o the Contract Specialist within five(5) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Responses will be evaluated, however, a determination by the government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the govern ment.
