Monache Meadow Access Road

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is advancing the Monache Meadow Access Road project to replace an existing road that traverses sensitive meadow and riparian habitat with a new, low-impact access route through rocky and sagebrush-dominated upland terrain. The proposed road will span approximately 1,400 meters and be 8 feet wide, designed to minimize ecological disruption by avoiding wetland areas and utilizing natural topography with minimal grading. Erosion control measures including water bars and out-sloping will be implemented on steeper sections to maintain hydrologic stability and prevent sediment migration into nearby waterways.
