MPA 125 Rock Salt for Road Use - open enrollment

The State of Rhode Island Department of Administration is seeking qualified vendors through solicitation OEV26006589 to establish a Master Price Agreement (MPA 125) for the purchase and distribution of rock salt for road use. This agreement serves the Executive and Judicial branches, cities, towns, and other state entities, with an estimated annual usage of approximately 62,660 tons, including 50,000 tons specifically for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT). The procurement is conducted in two phases: an initial pre-qualification phase based on product submissions and vendor qualifications, followed by a reverse auction for pricing. The contract includes a one-year guarantee with four twelve-month renewal options. Vendors must meet strict chemical and physical specifications, including a minimum of 95% total chlorides, a maximum moisture content of 3%, and specific particle size gradation.
