The Naval Air Systems Command, PMA-266, awarded a delivery order to Bell Helicopter of Hurst, Texas, for the procurement of commercial spares, labor, parts, and materials. This contract supports the Endurance Upgrade of the VTUAV MQ-8C Fire Scout. The scope of work focuses on the manufacture and delivery of essential hardware and supplies necessary for the aircraft's operational capabilities. This award was executed as a sole-source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, as the government determined that Bell Helicopter was the only responsible source capable of satisfying the agency's requirements. This determination was based on the likelihood that awarding the contract to any other source would result in a substantial duplication of costs to the government that could not be recovered through competition.
