Bid #D5-0055: This project involves the construction of approximately 1,200 feet of concrete sidewalk and curb and gutter along the west side of Mt. Vernon Avenue, between Spring Street and Center Street, in the Community of Highgrove. Additionally, an 878-foot segment of the roadway's west half-width on Mt. Vernon Avenue will undergo resurfacing, which includes sawcutting, removal of existing asphalt concrete (AC) and underlying material, and placement of new Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) over Class II Aggregate Base. The full width of Mt. Vernon Avenue within the project limits will also receive a Type II Slurry Seal application. Ancillary work includes clearing and grubbing, adjustment of existing pull boxes within the new sidewalk footprint, placement of traffic striping, retroreflective pavement markers, thermoplastic crosswalk and pavement markings, and other utility adjustments as required. The project allows for full road closure of Mt. Vernon Avenue between Spring Street and Center Street for construction activities.
