This project is to mechanically treat three units totaling approximately 800 acres of dense, unproductive stands of mountain shrub and Gambel's Oak with the overall objective of wildlife habitat restoration. The prescribed treatment will result in a 50% reduction in overall cover density, and leave a mosaic pattern of untreated "islands" to provide food and cover. The preferred treatment method is with a rubber tired hydro-axe, FECON or similar mulching type machine. GPS coordinates will be provided. The allotted time for contract performance is 90 days from notice to proceed. All work shall be performed on the Rifle Ranger District of the White River National Forest in Mesa County, Colorado. This project is being advertised as a total small business set-aside and as such is open to all qualified small businesses. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 115310 and the small business size standard is $7.5 million. The solicitation for this project will be available only through the Federal Business Opportunities website www.fbo.gov. All questions pertaining to this solicitation must be submitted in writing to Jay Tobin at contact@example.gov. All Offerors shall be registered in the System for Award Management (www.sam.gov) database to be eligible for award. Offerors must respond to all instructions in Sections B, K and L of the solicitation to be considered responsive. Offerors that fail to meet these criteria may not be considered for award.
