Nash Ranch Seasonal Culvert (Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration, No. EPIMS-SHA-60548-R1)

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS-SHA-60548-R1 with Nash Ranch, LLC, represented by Louis Nash, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code. Located at 10925 Old Oregon Trail on Stillwater Creek in Shasta County, California, the project involves the annual installation, use, and removal of a temporary low water crossing to support agricultural activities and public vehicle access during the summer and fall. The project is classified under NAICS code 237310 and has been granted a Notice of Exemption under California Code of Regulations title 14, sections 15301 and 15302, as it is determined to have no significant adverse impacts on endangered, rare, or threatened species. The technical scope requires the seasonal placement of three or four 18-inch diameter by 30-foot long culverts in or near the thalweg of Stillwater Creek, maintaining a minimum 6-inch spacing and 12 inches of cover. Approximately 40 cubic yards of native gravel will be sourced from an upstream gravel bar 100 feet away using a bulldozer and front loader to create a roadbed approximately 20 feet wide. At the conclusion of the farming season, the crossing must be removed by stockpiling the culverts and pulling the gravel back onto the banks.
