AI Contract Overview
The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) has issued a Request for Information (RFI-187262-GEOAI) to conduct market research on Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI) solutions capable of supporting selected NATO operational use cases. This RFI is strictly for planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation, contract, or binding obligation; responses are voluntary, cost-free, and will be used solely to inform future acquisition strategies. The agency seeks industry input on technologies that enable automated 2D and 3D feature extraction from diverse geospatial data sources—including high-resolution optical imagery, SAR, infrared, FMV, and point clouds—with a focus on identifying critical infrastructure elements such as roads, railroads, bridges, and buildings, including detailed attributes like width, material, condition, and structural dimensions. Solutions must demonstrate interoperability with NATO CoreGIS and alignment with relevant NATO STANAGs and industry standards. Submission of responses is required exclusively via a designated Microsoft Forms survey referenced in Annex A, with no attachments, external files, or alternative formats permitted. The deadline for responses is 17:30 Central European Time on 23 June 2026, and all correspondence must reference the RFI number. Responses are not to be sent to the Department of Commerce or any other external entity. While the RFI does not include evaluation criteria, contract clauses, pricing requirements, or award mechanisms, it does emphasize confidentiality for proprietary information and restricts participation to companies from NATO member nations. There are no performance periods, delivery schedules, inspection protocols, or payment details, as this document is purely an information-gathering tool with no intent to commit to procurement. The sole point of contact for inquiries is Emira Kapetanovic of NCIA, and no representations, certifications, or socioeconomic disclosures are requested from respondents.
