The Naval Supply Systems Command, Weapons Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) is organizing an Industry Day on December 17, 2013, to discuss the follow-on contract for the Naval Aviation Tire Performance Based Logistics (PBL) program. This event aims to facilitate a better understanding of government requirements and industry capabilities related to the next contract, which is expected to be a five-year base contract with an additional five-year option. The contract will be a Fixed Price with Economic Price Adjustment Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type, covering a range of retreaded and non-retreaded aviation tires used across various Naval aircraft. Attendance is limited to five representatives per company, necessitating pre-registration by December 8, 2013, and access to the facility requires strict security and identification procedures. The Industry Day will include presentations on the general PBL overview, a draft statement of work for the tire contract, and a Q&A session. However, the event does not constitute a formal Request for Proposal (RFP), as no solicitation exists yet; the official RFP is anticipated within the next 12 months. Participants are advised that any information shared should not be proprietary or sensitive, and no binding offers will be accepted at this stage. The meeting will be held at NAVSUP WSS in Philadelphia, and detailed directions and access guidelines have been provided to ensure smooth entry. Questions related to the draft statement of work must be submitted in writing to the designated Contracting Officer. The goal of the event is to engage potential contractors, clarify government needs, and gather input to inform the development of the forthcoming acquisition documents.
