AI Contract Overview

The Division of Purchasing in Utah has issued a notice of its intent to award a contract for the procurement of New Marsh Master MM-2MX-KC and related implements, with a contract value estimated between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This decision is based on the Utah Procurement Code, which allows for direct awarding of contracts without a competitive process under specific circumstances. These include situations where there is only one available source for the required item, when transitional costs significantly influence procurement decisions, or when the circumstances outlined in applicable rules make standard procurement impractical and not in the best interest of the agency. The Conducting Procurement Unit has provided justification documentation supporting this non-competitive award, which must be reviewed thoroughly. The solicitation was posted on August 18, 2025, with a response deadline of August 25, 2025. The procurement is managed by the Utah Division of Purchasing, and the project will be executed within the state of Utah. Interested parties can access additional details and the relevant documentation through the provided online link. This process underscores the agency’s adherence to procurement rules while recognizing situations where a streamlined, non-competitive approach is justified to meet operational needs efficiently.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A CONTRACT WITHOUT ENGAGING IN A STANDARD PROCUREMENT PROCESS The Division of Purchasing is publishing this notice pursuant to the Utah Procurement Code. The Conducting Procurement Unit submitted this form to the Division of Purchasing claiming that it intends to award a contract without competition if it is determined by the Division of Purchasing, in writing, that:
there is only one source for the procurement item; transitional costs are a significant consideration in selecting a procurement item; or the award of a contract is under circumstances, described in rules adopted by the applicable rulemaking authority, that make awarding the contract through a standard procurement process impractical and not in the best interest of the procurement unit.
In the Files section the Conducting Procurement Unit has identified its justification for wanting to award a contract without engaging in standard procurement process. You MUST read all of the documentation in the Files.
