The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Human Systems Program Office (AFLCMC/WNU) is continuing to further define requirements and specifications for the NGES. AFLCMC/WNU is issuing this RFI solely for information and planning purposes. The following questions are intended to help us identify and potentially mitigate areas of significant technical challenges and cost/schedule risks. Please respond to the following questions: 1. The Escape System Safety Compatibility Criteria of MIL-HDBK-516C (Paragraph 9.1.1) was recently updated to incorporate Crew Systems Bulletin (CSB) EZFC-CSB-16-001 included as Attachment A to this RFI. The change to the airworthiness criteria will impact the requirements in the NGES Specification. The Government would like to understand if industry has potential problems in meeting the new criteria listed in attachment A and B. Provide an assessment of industry's ability to meet the criteria in MIL-HDBK-516C Change Notice 5 with supporting Crew Systems Bulletin EZFC-CSB-16-001. Identify modifications that would be required to your current NGES system in order to meet the criteria outlined in MIL-HDBK-516C Change Notice 5 and EZFC-CSB-16-001. 2. All information received in response to this RFI that is properly marked as "proprietary" will be handled accordingly. Proprietary information must be clearly marked on the outside container and on the materials inside. The Government shall not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages for any proprietary information not properly identified. Any materials submitted in accordance with this RFI which contain information marked as proprietary will be protected as proprietary information. The Government will not provide reimbursement of any costs associated with documentation or communication submitted in response to this RFI. Any submitted documentation, upon delivery, becomes the property of the Government and will not be returned. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice. Submit responses in MS Word or Adobe PDF format by 1800 EST, 30 NOV 2018 and direct questions or comments regarding this RFI to the Contracting Officer, Abby Hoefler, at abby.hoefler@us.af.mil.
