Full Description

In response to additional restoration funding, a follow-on habitat design plan is required for Upper Newsome Creek located on the Red River Ranger District of the Nez Perce National Forest. The initial design was awarded to Ecosystem Research Group, based in Missoula, MT, using competitive procedures in 2007 and completed in 2008. Competition for the follow-on design is being limited to Ecosystem Research Group and the subcontractors and affiliates that worked on the original design. It was determined that opening up the competition to the broader marketplace would result in a substantial duplication of costs to the Forest Service that was not expected to be recovered through competition. The contract awardee will utilize existing watershed data to design additional work elements for the restoration project. The awardee shall then supplement and update the original design documents, specifications, maps, worklists and materials lists with the new information. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency.
