Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract to Datex-Ohmeda Inc., doing business as GE Healthcare Bioscience Bioprocess, for the service and maintenance of GE Maclab Systems. This requirement, identified by reference number N0025918N0030 and NAICS code 811219, covers all necessary parts, support, and labor for three specific equipment serial numbers. The government has identified GE Healthcare as the only viable source due to the proprietary nature of the equipment and the need for original equipment manufacturer components to maintain warranties and operational functionality. While this is a notice of intent to sole source rather than a request for competitive quotes, interested parties may submit capability statements to demonstrate their ability to perform the work. These submissions must include technical, management, and cost data and were required to be sent via email to the designated contract specialist by January 10, 2018. The government retains full discretion to determine whether to proceed with the sole source award or move toward a competitive procurement based on the evidence provided in any received capability statements.
