AI Contract Overview
The National Weather Service, under the Department of Commerce NOAA, intends to award a sole source contract to FP2Fire, Inc. for the annual preventative maintenance, calibration, testing, and certification of seven HISS systems and three Hydrogen Electrolyzers located across the Eastern Region and Grand Junction, CO. The work includes comprehensive inspections, leak and pressure testing, temperature verification, replacement of filters and cartridges, restocking of lubricant supplies, safety procedure certification, final system checks, and ongoing troubleshooting and warranty support. The contract is designated as a Small Business Sole Source, with the NAICS code 811210 and additional classification J066, reflecting the specialized nature of the equipment repair and maintenance services required. FP2Fire, Inc. is the only qualified vendor due to its original design, manufacture, and installation of these systems, and no other entity possesses the necessary expertise to ensure operational continuity and safety. Failure to award this contract solely to FP2Fire, Inc. would disrupt critical weather forecasting, watches, warnings, and advisories essential for public safety. The contract opportunity was posted on June 24, 2026, with Hannah Hartman of the NOAA Contracting Office as the primary point of contact, and performance will occur primarily in New York.
