Full Description

Complete a fire safety analysis on the bulk propane storage tanks. This has been a requirement since 2004 when the NFPA was revised. The NAVFAC fire engineer looked into this however they came back that they don’t have the expertise, nor does anyone else in the oup of Fire Protection Engineers at NAVFAC, to write an FSA. Bulk propane storage is a unique situation. The contractor would be evaluating the existing propane storage arrangement against the requirements of NFPA 58 as well as the UFCs 3-460-01, 3-460-03, and 4-179-01 the full requirements of NFPA 58 apply. Being this is on on a federal government installation the FSA must incorporate the requirements of NFPA and UFCs. If there are any conflicts between NFPA and UFCs than the conflicts would need to be documented in the FSA. Fire Protection Engineer: Curt Lytle, PE, Design and Construction, NAVFAC MIDLANT, Norfolk VA, Cell: 757.636.0685 FMS:Dave O'Connor Access to the FFFS will need to be pre-scheduled to not interrupt any training. Contact FMS to schedule.
