Full Description

The Forest Service anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price construction contract to remove and replace two existing trial bridges and substructure elements on Trail 32 mile posts 3.1 (Smokes Cabin)and 6.3 (N. Fork Cabin) on the Seeley Lake Ranger District, Lolo National Forest, within the Scape Goat Wilderness. The contractor is to furnish the replacement trail bridge structure and substructure. This project includes, but is not limited to, removing and disposing fo the existing trail bridges and substructure elements, structural excavation and installation of foundation components, furnnishing, loading, hauling and erecting the bridges, adjustment of adjacent trail grades to match design plans and all other incidental items necessary to complete the work according to the contract. All construction must comply with wilderness rules and restrictions. Traditional tools will be used as much as possible; however some motorized tools and mechanical transport will be allowed. Motorized tools ans mechanical transport will be restricted to the uses approved in the minimum requirements decision guide (MRDG) and minimized in the project. There is a mandatory site visit planned on June 26th for both bridges. This will consist of hiking approximately 12 miles round trip to visit both sites. We will meet an the North Fork of the Blackfoot River Trail head (Trail 32). This procurement is being set-aside 100% for small business. Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 237310 highway, street and bridge construction and the small business size standard is $36.5 million, set-aside 100% for small business. The magnitude of the contract is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
