The Northern Westchester East-West Corridors Study is a planning initiative led by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) and the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC), focusing on transportation corridors in northern Westchester County, including Bear Mountain Parkway, Route 6, Route 35, and Route 202/35. The project aims to conduct a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study to evaluate transportation improvements and environmental considerations along these east-west routes. The contract, estimated to start around November 15, 2025, has a duration of three years with an optional one-year extension, and the project budget ranges from $500,000 to $2 million. The procurement process emphasizes a Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) participation goal of 14.85%, encouraging meaningful involvement of certified DBE firms, with no set-aside goals for service-disabled veteran-owned, minority-owned, or women-owned businesses. Interested consultants are directed to review the full Request for Proposals (RFP) on the NYSDOT and NYMTC websites, with a proposal deadline set for May 27, 2025, at 2 PM, subject to change. All communications regarding the procurement must be made through designated contacts to ensure compliance with the State Procurement Act. The project location is within Westchester County, and the procurement is categorized under NAICS code 812990. The primary contact for inquiries is Patricia Kappeller, Contract Management Specialist III, reachable via email or phone. This initiative aims to support transportation planning efforts in the region, fostering collaboration with qualified consulting teams to develop sustainable and environmentally responsible transportation solutions.
