Notice of Increase Ceiling on N66001-12-C-4050

This is a notice of intent to increase the ceiling of Contract N66001-12-C-4050 with Raytheon BBN Technologies Corporation, awarded by SSC Pacific on behalf of the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) on 16 April 2012 for a performance period of 15 months with one, 15-month option.. Under this contract, Raytheon BBN provides novel software which is integrated with the network stack and various user technologies. These innovations facilitate storage and distribution of user-generated content on disadvantaged mobile networks. This enables these disadvantaged users at the mobile network edges to rapidly share access of highly time-relevant data, a vital tactical advantage. As this effort has evolved since 2012, Raytheon BBN has developed unique capabilities as the authors as well as integrators of this technology. This increase in effort is proposed to facilitate better integration and demonstration for potential technology transfer partners. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541712. Due to the nature of Research and Development efforts, DARPA could not have reasonably estimated the results of the research from this contract, as new transition partners have become available requiring an expanded developmental effort. This action includes a ceiling increase of approximately $1,350,000 and four (4) additional months of performance. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes and will be posted for 15 days. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
