The US Army Medical Command Southeast Region plans to award a sole source contract to Philips Medical System North America for an upgrade to the Xcelera base software with advanced extension components designed for the Brilliance Workspace environment. The upgrade includes two primary products: the Advanced Brain Perfusion License package (product #NCTA510) and the CV Analysis Enhancement package (product #NCTA860). The Advanced Brain Perfusion License package offers enhanced brain imaging capabilities by differentiating areas of increased blood volume and decreased blood flow, generating quantitative color maps related to cerebral blood flow and volume, mean-transit time, and time-to-peak. It uses serial CT scans with contrast uptake to aid in identifying brain regions that may benefit from re-perfusion therapy, along with exclusive motion correction and noise reduction features. The CV Analysis Enhancement package provides tools for comprehensive cardiac analysis with simplified workflow and minimal user interaction. It enables detailed coronary artery evaluation, visualization of coronary trees, and assessment of ventricular function, including advanced features like no-click total cardiac segmentation, unique views for cross-sectional cuts, stent calculations, advanced volume rendering, and functional assessments with bulls-eye presentations. Although this is not a request for proposal, other companies with equivalent products are encouraged to submit technical specifications, past performance, pricing, and delivery information for potential consideration in future procurements. The contract falls under NAICS code 334510 and was posted on August 22, 2007.

Provides excl usive motion correction, noise reduction and improved ease of use. Using serial CT scans obtained with intravenous injection of contrast, the Brain Perfusion package derives perfusion information from the time-density curves based on the uptake of injecte d contrast material and subsequent tissue enhancement (or lack of). The package generates quantitative color maps of cerebral blood flow (CBF), cerebral blood volume (CBV), mean-transit time (MTT) and time-to-peak (TTP), in addition to summary maps which differentiates between areas of the brain that may benefit from re-perfusion therapy. 1 each product #: NCTA860, CV Analysis Enhancement package designed for the Brilliance Workspace environment. This enhancement offers Comprehensive Cardiac Analysis (CCA) that provides simplified workflow and minimal user interaction. The cardiac analysi s tool helps to visualize coronary trees, perform detailed coronary artery evaluations and analyze ventricular function. This package includes the following: a no-click total cardiac seg; Globe View (Globe 3 Map and 2D Map); unique IVUS-like view for th e central cross-sectional cut; easy stenos is calculations; outstanding volume rendering visualization with coronary trees extraction and complete vessel visualization including its origin from the aorta for ostial morphology assessment. Slab tools (inclu ding cut planes) on volume Rendered image in cine; new and advanced LV functional assessment including bulls-eye presentation and continuous identification of C-arm angles.
