Notice of Intent: FCC Data Center Operations and Maintenance (O&M)

COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR COSTS INCURRED IN PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF DATA OR ANY OTHER COSTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. This notice of intent to sole source is hereby issued and posted in accordance with FAR 5.201. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price (FFP) contract to International Business Machine ("IBM"), under the authority of FAR 16.505(b)(2)(C) - "The order must be issued on a sole-source basis in the interest of economy and efficiency because it is a logical follow on to an order already issued under the contract, provided that all awardees were given a fair opportunity to be considered for the original order". The FCC intends to negotiate with the current contractor, IBM. This contract is with General Services Administration (GSA) Alliant 2 Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) under its contract with IBM contract number 47QTCK18D0014. The order is a firm fixed priced order with twelve (12) month base period and two (2) optional twelve (12) month option years. This action is a logical follow-on to order 273FCC19F0156 which was competitively awarded to IBM on September 26, 2019. The purpose of this requirement is in support of the continued operations and maintenance of the Office of the Managing Director (OMD) Information Technology Center (ITC). The contract will encompass the services required for all data center migration and operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of the FCC IT infrastructure.
