Notice of Intent to Adopt an Initial Study with Proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration

The El Dorado County Department of Transportation is the lead agency for the Routine Maintenance Agreement Project, operating under Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number ELD-39796-R2. Executed by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code, this agreement authorizes routine maintenance activities across 1,786 square miles within El Dorado County. The scope of work covers county-maintained roads, roadway shoulders, roadside ditches, culverts, bridges, stormwater facilities, and flood control facilities in active flood control zones. Performance areas include various locations such as Placerville, South Lake Tahoe, El Dorado Hills, and several other local communities. Authorized maintenance activities include the removal, repair, or in-kind replacement of facilities, debris and obstruction removal including beaver dams, vegetation control in channels or banks, and the repair of previous erosion control work. Additional tasks encompass minor erosion control, channel alignment maintenance, maintenance of municipal separate storm sewer systems, minor bridge maintenance, the removal of silt, sand, or sediment, and the upkeep of existing recreational facilities. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has determined that the project will not have a significant environmental effect, provided that specific mitigation measures are implemented as conditions of approval.
