--Notice of intent to award a contract to TELEPHONICS CORPORATION 815 Broad Hollow RD Farmingdale, NY 11735-3904 for Aviation Wireless Intercommunications System (AWIS).

The contract is intended to be awarded to Telephonics Corporation for the supply of specific transceiver units and associated cables, which include part numbers 780-1000-001, 780-1000-003, VIP Cable PN 010.6856-03, and Dual Lemo Cable PN CC6 658-M7. These components must be fully compatible with existing aviation wireless intercommunications systems used by the Colorado Army National Guard (CO ARNG). Telephonics Corporation is currently the sole known provider meeting the required specifications for the Aviation Wireless Intercommunications System (AWIS). Responses to this notice will be accepted within 15 days of publication, no later than 2:00 PM MST on September 28, 2006. Submissions received after this date may still be considered, provided they include compelling evidence demonstrating a more advantageous solution for the government. This notice serves only as a synopsis of intent to award and is not a solicitation, so no contract will be awarded based solely on responses to this notice.
