Full Description

This is a notice of intent to award a sole source, Firm- Fixed Price (FFP) Purchase Order in accordance with Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106 (b) Solicitation from a single source, to Galleon Embedded Computing, LLC located at 2210 Morning Park DR., Katy, TX 77494. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has a requirement for specialized audio-surveillance systems, Audioscope, from Squarehead Technology. Audioscope is the only known product specifically designed for surveillance where a technique combining adaptive beam-forming technology and video surveillance is used. The system includes microphone array dish (256 microphones), signal processing unit, application and accessory kit. This technology allows an operator to listen to various locations within the range of the system without any movement of the equipment. The ability to focus attention on various locations, affords the operator great freedom when deciding where to install the equipment. In a mobile application this ability means the operator does not have to move about in order to "point" the equipment at his target and thereby draw attention to him potentially compromising the investigation. According to research by Office of Security Technology, there are no products commercially available in the market with similar performance and functionality. The unique combination of video surveillance and audio zooming surveillance is protected by both granted and pending patents. Galleon Embedded Computing, LLC has been given seller authority and is the sole distributor of this product. The requirement will be awarded by the Federal Bureau of Prisons and delivered to Federal Correctional Institution Otisville, NY. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334111. This notice of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive quotes. A Request for Quote (RFQ) will not be available for this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
