Full Description

Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, it is the Governments intent to award a sole source procurement for a HD-1T Degausser to Data Security, Inc., Lincoln, NE. Degausser must meet DoD specifications for purging classified/sensitive information from h ard disk media up to 4200 Oersteds including floppy disks, zip disks, jazz disks, and hard disk drives without removing the disk platters. Degausser must also meet DoD specifications for purging all classified/sensitive information from tape media up to 2 500 Oersteds including DLT III, DLT IV, SuperDLT, LTO, 8mm, DDS1, DDS2, DDS3, DDS4, and VHS. Degausser must be listed in the National Security Agency approved Degausser Products List as meeting these requirements. Must accept hard drives to 1 inch high b y 4 inches wide by 5.8 inches long. This equipment must meet DoD guidelines for purging all classified/sensitive information from the media used in the Department of Defense Intelligence Information Site (DoDIIS) at Fort Drum and other supported organizat ions. Any other manufacturers system would be incompatible and unusable; no other manufacturer is listed in the DPL as meeting the requirements. This equipment is unique in capability and no other manufacturer can meet the required specifications of decl assifying/sanitizing zip disks, jazz disks, and hard disk drives up to 4200 Oersteds without removing the disk platters while declassifying/sanitizing tape media up to 2500 Oersteds. This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not considered a Re quest for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and co nvincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the purchase will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
