Notice of Intent to Increase the Ceiling of Contract N66001-13-C-4025 This is a notice of intent to increase the ceiling of Contract N66001-13-C-4025 to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), awarded by SSC Pacific on behalf of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Defense Sciences Office (DARPA/DSO) on 25 June 2013 for a performance period of three (3) years. The effort under the contract is to provide a platform for producing medical therapeutics in logistically challenging environments where the target product profile includes on-demand delivery of protein biologics in a rapid manner with limited access to clean water and support by a cold-chain. This additional effort intends to add technical work that will leverage the program efforts to date. Specifically, the extension of work will continue to advance the MIT InSCyT benchtop platform and demonstrate its capability to produce purified clinical-grade catalytically inactive botulism haloproteins. This additional work develops a capability that is of interest to BARDA and would facilitate transition. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541715 (renumbered from 541712). Due to the nature of Research and Development efforts, DARPA could not have reasonably estimated the results of the research from this program, which has seen breakthroughs that will benefit from continued work under this current contract. It is expected that the technology will transition for use by the warfighter. This action includes a ceiling increase of approximately $1.7M and an additional 24 months of performance. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes and will be posted for 15 days. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
